Toys ‘R Us Says Goodbye

June 29, 2018

It's official: Toys ‘R Us has closed its doors for good today. The toy store chain filed for bankruptcy in September 2017 and began closing its 735 U.S. stores in March - with the last remaining stores to close this week. The brands mascot Geoffrey the Giraffe waved a sad goodbye via social media, while standing by the empty toy shelves. We think he looks a little bit sad, and in all honesty so are we. Toys ‘R Us was like walking into heaven when we were little.

With the closing, 33,000 employees will lose their jobs without severance. Maybe worst of all, kids everywhere have no where to buy their toys.
