While writing some upcoming posts on UFO's and Aliens, I felt the need to review this piece of cr... the bland and unoriginal movie known as Arrival. Don't get me wrong I was digging it along the way, it was a decent little ride with good visuals, solid acting and did a nice job of playing with the timeline and chain of events to make for interesting character development. Where the wheels fell off was in the resolution, the ending, falling into the "aliens are friendly creatures just here to help us" trap. It's a played out theme. Of course the director chose the oh so cerebral route with big scary creatures, heavy atmosphere and stoic faces to build tension, leading you to believe those creatures behind the glass could reach out at any moment and eat you.
But then BOOM, just kidding! these are friendly little things just here to teach us to communicate with a "cant we all just get along" message. I have even seen some reviews praising its message, encouraging viewers to swallow the get along message. Well I don't buy it.
We had a period back in the 1980's where movie after movie rolled out featuring the theme of space, NASA, aliens, etc... and some believe it was a movement towards disclosure or a lifting of the veil of secrecy on the topic. Maybe this is a new dawn with movies like this coming out, a new disclosure movement, but after years of research and evidence showing that maybe the visitors are not as friendly as first thought I would expect a new approach and updated story arc. How about something hard hitting examining the animal mutilations, genetic testing, abductions etc. Instead Hollywood still is pushing the peace message. Maybe it really is controlled by government and forced to relay the message its asked to. Ask Bill Birnes what happened when he broke the Dulce Story to a mass audience on UFO Hunters.
So all in all avoid this movie, show Hollywood that we want the truth by not paying for the lies. If you cant resist the urge then see it, I understand we fiend for something Alien, but take it with a grain of salt. One thing we should have learned by now is that government lies, Hollywood is at least influenced if not controlled by government, and the story we see on the screen is probably 180 degrees from the truth that is happening.
