Nail Salon in Ohio Sparking Controversy with Attention Getting Name
According to a website called Thrillest, a nail salon in Ohio is sparking controversy with its attention getting name: Hand Jobs.
The name is definitely an attention grabber that's sure to generate plenty of word of mouth, and cheaper than a bunch of TV and radio ads or coupons. Hand Jobs Nails & Spa in Perkins Township, Ohio has caught some backlash from locals for the unusual business name, though the owner said her strategy has worked better than she hoped:
“In less than a week, I think the whole country knows about us," said owner Dawn Moon in an interview. "If you go in and get your nose done it’s called a nose job, right? Well, you come in and get your hands done. You think of something like that and don’t know if you’ll ever do it, but I did."
The large shop sign hangs proudly out front and is pissing off some - Moon said she's received comments like “Not very classy. Not very community friendly." Enough complaints have come in that the town's zoning department has put the sign under review, and on Wednesday chose to not approve it.
Moon feels confident she'll get to at least keep the name. "We were given a license by the state. My name stays the same. I just don’t know what’s gonna happen as far as the sign." In a Facebook post, the owner said that she will appeal the decision.
If you were wondering, hand jobs start out at only $30. No coupn needed.
