Husky 4 Piece Flip Socket Set

Here is a picture of the front of the box

This past Sunday morning I spent the day off preparing for my upcoming yearly state inspection. The car is relatively new, but I new it was time for rear brakes. I had the brake pads and rotors ready to go, but was itching to add some new tools to the tool box. Perfect time to pick up a set of wheel lug sockets to replace the four way lug wrench in the trunk. There are a lot of options out there, but I felt the Husky 4 piece set with an extension, Model # H2DTWIFS, offered a good value, and I liked that everything came in a handy carrying case. These are not coated to protect the wheels, but I think I can live without that feature.

Here is the backside of the box.

According to the Home Depot website:

  • Set includes (1) 1/2 in. drive 3 in. impact extension bar (3) 1/2 in. drive flip impact sockets: SAE - 7/8 x 15/16, 3/4 x 13/16 and Metric 21 x 22 mm

  • Designed for use with impact drive tools

  • Thin wall design of the sockets fit into most recessed lug nut openings

  • 6-point flip impact sockets

  • Oiled, black oxide finish for maximum corrosion resistance

  • Pin hole at the base of the extension bar for use with pin and O-ring for a secure attachment to drive tools

  • Forged from Chrome Molybdenum Alloy Steel (Cr-Mo) for its strength under the pressures of impact use and wear resistances

  • Chamfered lead-ins help to provide fast and easy placement onto drive tools and fasteners

  • Sockets feature off corner loading to help prevent the rounding of fasteners

  • Laser etched size markings allow for easy identification

  • The Plastic storage case is stamped with size markings for easy identification and organization

  • Meets or exceeds ANSI standards

  • Husky mechanics hand tools are guaranteed forever; if your Husky hand tool ever fails, bring it back and we will replace it free

And a view of the socket in action

In action, I found the sockets worked well and there were little signs of use after completing the job. They are available directly from the Home Depot website and are stocked in most stores in the tool section. Order them here.
