Victoria's Secret has been scuffling over the last couple of years, trying to evolve the brand identity and relevancy in the current culture of inclusion. Even many of the brands own models have bit the hand that feeds them, calling out the company for not being inclusive of all body shapes and types. That has led to many controversial attempts by Victoria's Secret to reach a new audience, such as the decision to feature it's first transgender model Valentina Sampaio.
More recently, the brand has begun to address its criticisms by rethinking its fashion shows to focus on a culture of “inclusivity” and “diversity”. That means more plus sized models, and the first of the ladies to fit the mold is size 14 Ali Tate Cutler. The 5'-10" 140+ pound model will work for VS as part of a collaboration with the UK based lingerie brand Bluebella which provides sexy wear for women of all sizes.
Ali says that she has idolized the brand since she was a teenager and lists Ashley Graham as an inspiration. The green eyed Cutler definitely has more of an 'every woman' look that the usual runway model, and lists hiking, yoga, and travel among her hobbies. She lists animal rights campaigns as a cause dear to her heart. We think she is worth a look as the featured girl in this weeks What is Sexy, but tell us what you think about Ali Tate Cutler in the comments below.
