Everyone has enjoyed Hugh Jackman’s performance as Wolverine over the years, and his portrayal of the iconic Marvel character will forever be intertwined with the X-Men pantheon. But true comic book fans have always known that the six foot plus Jackman man isn't a perfect fit for the diminutive Wolverine - and some say it's time for a smaller actor to finally take on the spandexed Wolverine role.
A social media savvy fan named “Ring Arius” has started an online petition to have someone new join the X-Men franchise - Danny DeVito. Arius says that the Always Sunny in Philidelphia star is “The only man able to take the throne after Hugh Jackman. We believe that if Wolverine is to make an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that the only man able to pull it off is Danny DeVito.”
As crazy as it sounds, it makes sense. DeVito has the size and pent up rage to perfectly meld with the role, though we do wonder if Danny, who is 74 years old, is up to the physical challenge. Maybe a couple of stunt doubles and CGI can make it work.
If you think Danny DeVito Would make the perfect Wolverine in the next X-Men Movie, you can sign the petition here. There are already over 35,000 people who have signed it, and the petition aims to get 50,000 total signatures.
