When we came across the Gibbs Quadski Amphibious ATV, we promptly added it to our Powerball Money shopping list. The ATV is designed to function on both land and water, which makes it a bad ass toy if you have the suggested $40K asking price. The thing is so in demand by the uber rich that yacht-makers have designed these things into their vessels. We have not decided exactly what yacht we are gonna buy, but plan to have a whole fleet of these things so that every supermodel we party with can tag along deep into the woods with us.
On land, the Quadski is electronically limited to about 80 hp so you don't kill yourself crashing into something, but it shouldn't take much engineering to bypass the 45 mph top speed. When you hit the water, the full 175 hp is available to navigate over the local lake or waterway. The power is delivered by a 1300-cc BMW inline four motor and accompanying BMW constant-mesh six-speed transmission with an auto clutch that does the downshifting for you. It does require 98 RON Premium plus unleaded, but hey who cares when you're rich! In a test by Popular Mechanics, they said that the Quadski handles wakes smoothly and can execute tight turns just like a Jet Ski or Sea-Doo.
