The World's Largest Ghost Hunt takes place on September 29th, 2018. The event gives people across the globe a chance to join together in an effort to connect with those who have crossed over to the other side. Ghost hunters will roam on dozens of historic, and allegedly haunted, properties called “ghost hunting satellites”. All sites have been certified by experienced researchers to have paranormal activity. This will be the third year the event takes place.
The event is a great way for new ghost hunters to learn how to properly investigate the paranormal, or for seasoned ghost hunters to continue their research. It also brings awareness of local historical sites that need preservation. According to the website for the event, the yearly gathering serves "as the engine to encourage Historic Preservation, Paranormal Unity, Paranormal Research and Public Education about these Historic Sites and the skills and techniques used in Paranormal Investigation". Every dollar of the proceeds raised are given back to the property. Last year 90 properties benefited from the event. This year there are nearly 150 participating sites.
The World’s Largest Ghost Hunt is the biggest paranormal research attempt ever held, and this year the hope is to catalog any evidence gathered into a national data bank for evaluation through the Paranormal Database. A video platform company called ShinDig will help Haunted Journeys connect all the ghost hunts for those who can't attend. Well-known psychic medium Scotty Rorek will be the host.
